You have got to be kidding, this is intuitive?

I have two other real estate template sites that are EASY to set up and change. Website tonight is anything but easy and I can't see anyone doing something semi professional in a night.

I am on dial up and it takes forever to load up pages or make changes. Say it's not your issue but I don't have insane wait times to change the other sites.

I have all of three images on one page and it's telling me I need to upgrade.
    Give me a break.

VERY DISAPPOINTED. Don't have time to play website developer. I need to get in and get out.

With my company site, I log in, quickly do contact info, load up a photo and can change it's location on the page on the fly and do any nunber of other things with a click or two, no waiting forever.

If I need to add links, vendors, buttons, etc I can do than within seconds and place on the page where I need it - no boxes to insert, no hovering of the mouse, etc.

What am I suppose do with your calender? I inserted it but didn't see anywher in the help about how I add an event or anything.

      Hi Keith,

I appreciate your feedback on the program and am sorry to hear that you had a tough time getting through it and publishing your site.

For the most part, the majority of our users haven't had any problems with creating their pages.  In fact, we have one particular user with over 100 pages!  As far as creating professional looking pages, I suggest trying out one of our new CSS based templates that offer more flexibility over our standard templates.  The new CSS templates don't cost any more or any less (consider them 'included with the cost of admission') and they all offer the ability to swap out the template images for images that would better suit your site's needs.

Since we're always interested in hearing suggestions on how to improve, you can e-mail ideas to suggestions@websitetonight.com.

Again, I appreciate your feedback and encourage you to send us suggestions on how to improve.

      Thanks Keith.

          Hi David,

I'm sorry to hear that you're frustrated with the application.  I can offer you some excellent news though.  In August (within a week) we will start releasing WST 4.0 which removes a lot of the frustrating areas that WST 3.0 had and brings back the WST 2.7 familiarity of click and type editing.

Shortly after the initial release, we'll have more updates to increase the speed of the application since we have been toiling away at streamlining the back end processing.

          Thanks David.

First of all thanks for using godaddy products. And congratulations for maintaining such a wonderful website (shop.swimmisports.com).

Now to answer your question, once you are done with creating your photo album and publishing it. Click on the photo album, that will open a new window called 'Photo Album Slideshow' where you can see rotating pictures once you click the start button at bottom of the window.

I hope this helps, and thank you again.

Builder site is often dial-up slow -- do you have enough capacity in place for peak use? I'm using a cable modem and recent top-of-line desktop with 2mb memory.

Bullets program is buggy, needs to work like Word and only bullet selected text and have selection of bullet shapes and fonts.

Fonts don't include character sets needed, like Wingdings and Webdings (1,2,3) for many uses.

Built site should be portable for a price (maybe hefty) especially if client is willing to continue to pay same amount for hosting. Clients who need to post their site in their own country or outside the US for legal reasons, but like the Website tonight ease of use should be accommodated, may be a large market.

I'm still in the planning stages for the website, but have a couple of questions: 1. Are cascading links available? This is a link on the page that expands down with additional page links to choose from. 2. I noticed the comment that CSS templates provide more options. Perhaps you could expand on the advantages and disadvantages of CSS templates versus traditional templates in greater detail.

      Dear Gordon,

WebSite Tonight currently doesn't support cascading links (a.k.a. nested menus).

CSS templates have several advantages over traditional templates:

         1. They are faster to design, publish, and view.
         2. You can change the layout of the main content area of a page without losing its content.
         3. You can switch to another CSS template without losing content.
         4. CSS layouts handle large content (wider or taller than the layout's dimensions) more gracefully.
         5. You can customize all the template images.

It seems like an unnecessary restriction to have all form submissions go to one person for further distribution when the information can be directed to the proper person automatically. Hi Mary,

I'm interested in hearing more about what you'd like us to include.  I reviewed that page on the w3.org site but found more information with the Checklist of Checkpoints of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines for 1.0.  The 2.0 version doesn't really add much more to the 1.0 version.

From what I read, alt text and a text equivalent for every non-text equivalent element.  This includes images, symbols, animations, aplets, sounds, video, etc...  Although we want to make sure the majority of our users are able to use and enjoy our products and services, it would be quite a daunting task to meet every requirement and I'm not sure how well the pages would look.

Currently I'm proud to say that we do provide alt text for the navigation buttons on pages produced with WebSite Tonight.  Text/background colors provide nice contrasts for easy reading.  For the most part, a lot of that is up to you all as site designers.

Other than that, let us know what you'd like to see and we'll see if we can add it into the mix in the future.

      Thanks for the post Mary!

To top it all off, after a layoff, I came back to edit some more and BANG! I'm locked out. I can't get in to edit. It seems like I have to buy more time with Website Tonight! What a crock! I've been forced to edit and complete my website on their schedule. I'm very disappointed and have lost a lot of time because of this. The time limit was probably lost in Bob Parsons' overly crowded web pages that try to sell you something at every turn. This is bad customer service and I've had enough of it. 1) Unfortunately there isn't a way to change the shape of the content blocks however you can change the layout of how the content blocks are setup to fit the content you want to enter.  Also, you can drag and drop content from block to block if you'd like.

      2) Under the "Manage" button on the green bar, click the "Contact Information" button and you'll be presented with a page where you can edit your e-mail address and your "company or individual name".  That will change the "all rights reserved" block.

      3) Unfortunately right now WST doesn't support a database but what kind of database features did you have in mind?

      Thanks!

      Rama,

Thanks for taking the time to post on our blog.  I'll let our Creative team know that they should consider some dental related templates the next time they work on new templates.

In the meantime, if you browse our templates and find a layout that you like but do not like the imagery included, you can always swap out the existing images with dental images of your own.

Hope that helps for the time being and we appreciate your post.

I have pretty much had it with this system. It is so slow, I am a very patient person, but the speed of this sight is just ridiculous. I also think it should automatically save things for you; I have had to recreate a photo album three times now because and unexpected error occurred while I was trying to insert photos. I am just fed up with the quality of this site and I honestly hope that it gets better because I am paying money for this and I am not impressed with the results.

I am just a few days into using you program. I have no experience with building a website or HTML coding. I find that the help menus and "how-to's" are very vague. I post a form on one of the pages on my site. I added several fields to it. I later dedided against including some of the fields. While I was able to delete the informatino in those fields, the field itself cannot be deleted. It leaves a balnk space on the form. After a while with tch support, the final result i got was that i would have to go into the HTML settings to remove them. To me that is not acceptable at all. I asked if anyone in tech support could help me with that I was told there was no-one there that can do that. Here is my last question: If I knew how the fix the problem in HTML than why do I need WebSite Tonight? The whole purpose for me using the program is because I do not know or want to learn HTML coding. I also find it hard to believe that NO-ONE can fix this in tech support. I am very dissappointed with your product. I was however asked no less that 6 times in the last 2 days to upgrade my subscription. Maybe you should fix your product b4 you ask for more $$$

      Dear Vance,

I am sorry to hear of the difficulties you've had using WebSite Tonight.

To delete a row on a form:

          1. Click the block which contains the form to edit.
          2. Click somewhere on the row to be removed.
          3. Expand the Table & Objects tool bar.
          4. Hover over Edit Table.
          5. Click Delete Row.

      I hope this helps.

      Sincerely,

Is there a way I can force images to be published without placing them in a content block? I wrote a javascript to randomly select an image from a list of names. They don't show up unless I also place the image in a content block on another "secret" page on my site. I'm used to being able to FTP images to an image directory.

(Even when I do place the images, Website Tonight seems to change my image file names.)

Overall I have been very satisfied with what I've been able to do. I'm a code hacker and love being able to edit the HTML and add javascript!

      Greetings, David.

Sorry for delay in response on the previous comment which I'll address within this post.   Firstly when you upload images through our bulk image uploader or to the file directory you are correct that they are not published until associated with the page. One way around this is to load the images to another location such as  , Online Photo Filer, which you probably have a free version within your account, and then reference their location  from there.     Please let me know if this is a viable solution for your needs  or if I could expand  on the usage  of Online photo filer within Website Tonight.

I'm a new user (about 2 weeks) and have been very impressed with what I've been able to do so far. Another question about images: I wrote javascript to randomly select an image from a set and place it on my page. Is there any way to publish images to my site without physically placing them on a page? I'm used to being able to FTP to a /images directory and grab them as needed.

Thanks John. I figured it out after reading all the help files and doing a little experimentation. The Upload Image as File feature is what I was looking for. When I upload my images this way, they get published in the uploads folder for my site and my javascript is calling them from there. It's working great and I can use the Manage/File Size feature to monitor how much space I'm using.

        Thanks again,
        David

Hi, I am a new user. I've had a good experience for the most part, but am wondering if you have any plans to update the Forum. I need to be able to have emoticons, and for users to be able to embed photos, video, urls etc with out needing to know HTML etc.. Avatars that can been seen without a magnifying glass would be nice too
    Thanks, Rob

      Greetings Rob,

Thank you for your feedback.   The forum does indeed have plans and updates to the program are on the roadmap including most of the  changes you mentioned.  The avatar issue I hadn't seen prior , ok puns aside we'll take a look at that too.
