My name is Noel and I am a member of the Go Daddy® Website Tonight® team as a HTML/CSS developer. I have been working on various projects including Website Tonight, Blog, Podcast and Express Email Marketing since I came aboard in February. I have really enjoyed working here and the corporate environment is the best I have ever been a part of.
I have a background in Psychology Research from San Francisco State University as well as creative and web design/development from Silicon Valley College located in the Bay Area. I recently moved here from Oakland, CA last September after working at Robert Half International for 5 years and I definitely enjoy the change of pace, lifestyle and weather the greater Phoenix metro area has to offer.

Website Tonight is really a great system. Maybe in the next phase of development you could think about drag-and-drop template editing? It would be nice to adjust the size and spacing of the frames, for example.
Thanks Ruby for the comment and I went back and did some research to find out if this specific functionality is on our radar but unfortunately, due to the complexity involved, it might be some time before this is available for our users.

We are in the last stages of development for our drag and drop feature. This will allow you to move content to different areas on the page. We will be releasing this feature in the next week or two if all goes as planned.
That would be excellent. As a complete amatuer it is very frustrating when you expect things to move like 'regular' programs(photoshop, printmaster and many others).Drop and drag would be fantastic.
I am new. I do not know anything about godaddy and building my website. My comment: I have eye glasses with three focals. I can read your BOLD or dark fonts, but your NORMAL BLUE fonts on a white background becomes very hard to see and I get very tired reading those HELP files. Thanks for the comments. I passed them over to our usability group. For your general web surfing needs, I would suggest you use Mozilla's FireFox browser since you can increase or decrease the font size of the text (not text in images) no matter how the web site is designed. This should help make your web surfing experience much more pleasant.

I thank you for everything you have done to make it easy for us. We help people with basic website needs.
Here are suggestions I have had from clients and potential clients.
1. Could you please make a box we can click to turn off the hyper link color that comes when we create our own buttons? If you can't change the color, then if we can make it to where there will be no color around it.
2. When I create many new pages, and the button links come to the bottom of the screen. I would like to delete them with the option of a delete all button. This way I don't have to go through each page that I create to delete each one of them one by one.
3. Could you figure a way to make it to where a customer could upload a photo or logo, and make it into some sort of flash?
4. Could you make it to where we could upload larger audio files? I have a client who would like to upload an large audio on what his services are about. Also have the option to put the small audio player that comes down when you choose it, to place it where you want it to be on your page. One more thing in this section. Some clients I have want to put an audio file on more than one page that says different things to their customers. Is this possible to put more than one audio file for more than one page?
5. On the flash intro pages you provide. Could you please add more samples? I have clients who wish they had flash pages to help market their industries. Fast food, acupuncture, fashion and beauty, wood working, physical therapy, apparel,flower shop, film and television, and more. They would also like to see more multi cultural in the photos for flash.
6. Could you possible make it to where you can click and a button, and a drop down comes with many other button choices to choose from that category?
7. Some people don't like counters on their page, but they want to be able to see a hidden counter so they can track who has been on their site.
8. When there are changes, if you could send an update of changes to the members, so they can know about all the wonderful new things you have created for them.

I have passed items 1-3, 5, and 6 over to our Creative team to see if our templates can do accomodate these requests.
For item 4, how big of a file are we talking about?
For item 7, we have a stats page that can be activated on every WebSite Tonight account. Check out this post to find out how to activate your site statistics.
For item 8, do you mean our customer base or do you mean if you make some changes in your WebSite Tonight project, you want updates to go to your site visitors?

For item #8 I am just wondering if an e-mail can be sent to those who have website tonight accounts, which would keep them updated on new changes; such as those I have suggested or other new changes.
I don’t know if the above is possible, but it just keeps all of us updated. I had a customer service rep with Godaddy tell me that he is not even updated on new changes. I don’t know how much truth that is, but that is just what he told me.

Hi Jeff,
Yeah, that's a decent size for files to upload but you shouldn't have had a problem. We upped the max to 30MB for music, video, random files, etc...
For item 8, we often have releases so I try not to spam our customers with small updates, fixes, etc. One of the purposes of the blog is to provide that channel of communication between our customers and our developers.
As far as the customer service representative on the phone, our significant updates are sent out to the customer care center and they are made aware of new changes that are coming out if they are significant. This coming release of WebSite Tonight 4.0 will have significant improvements with a follow up in the next week or two that will really streamline the back end processing. What this means for you is that WebSite Tonight will be more responsive so you can keep your tempo when designing your site.
With regards to the photo application, we have one of our own called Online Photo Filer - check it out!

Item 1 has to do with the ability to turn off the box around image links. Has this been addressed? I'm having the same issue.

When a link is added to an image which does not have a border, then all browsers display a default blue border around the image to show that it is a link.
We enhanced the html editor in our last release and this issue is one of the side effects of it.
This was reported to us couple of days ago and we have already got this fixed. This will go out in our next release on March 12th, 20009.

Thank you again for all your time and efforts. I looked at the link you sent me for your own photo application. I am not sure if it does what the link does on the link I sent you from what it showed me. Do you know of any sample sites I could look at that has this application?
WOW, that is great that you upgraded to 30MB. That should be perfect for my client.
I understand about the spam. I just wish I had a way to see all the updates as they came in. Maybe a box we can mark if we want updates sent to us, and then it won't be spam. Don't want to be a pest on this, just love updated information.
I know we went over the intro flash pages, but I had one more idea to see if it was possible. It would be great if we could upload our own photos on the intro flash pages. It would be great to have that option if we wanted. We would be able to put a company logo or photos in the order we want them to come in and out of the flash template that is provided.
Oh, I didn't now if this was currently available, but do we have access to have a blog on our own sites?
Is there a way to speak to you on the phone? If so, can you please send me an e-mail to where I could reach you. I would like to go over a few things on the phone.

I forgot one more thing my clients wanted to know if they could add to their site. They want a form where if a client wants to get on a mailing list, then they can fill out a form that will send their request to my clients e-mail, or to a special area that holds names and addresses, so they can track those or print the mailing list.

I would love to see an apparel intro that shows the designing aspect, and then a final product at the end for a flash intro.
I would also like to see a fashion one with high fashion photoshoots, with everyday models and thin models as well.
I would love to see an acupuncture one that shows a variety of ethnic cultures.
I would like to see a physical therapy one with even a view at the end of someone running on the beah or by the ocean waves.
I would like to see a woodworking site with refinishing, sanding, and cabinet building.
More photography flash intro pages. Maybe showing headshots, and outdoor shoots.
One for entertainment maybe showing behind the scenes of movie making.
One for a heart specialist or even for a nerve specialist doctor.
Maybe one for fastfood places.
Best of all setting up a template flash intro, where we can upload our own logos and photos to move around or in and out. This would be best of all I think. That is if it could be done or not.

Hello,
I am new to this, and was wondering why when building a blank page, and putting my logo in the top block; why can't I put my buttons to the left of the logo without leaving a space between them. Could I just grab my photo or logo, and move it to where I want it to be?

Hi Charlie -
Good question. Unfortunately it sounds like you might have to pick up a template that will suit your needs better. Don't limit yourself to templates that are already designed to fit the theme you want, you can replace just about any image in almost all of the templates so just look at the layouts and go with the one that best fits what you have in mind.

I was wondering if on the blank template on Website Tonight, if there could be side buffers on this. This is so I could have a margin on each side of my content, instead of going from one side of the page to the other.
Did your tech team make changes yet to where I could not have the outline on the hyperlinks if we choose not to have them?

Hi Jeff,
I would suggest using a table for the blank template if you need a some room on either side. It will give you more control over the space and also help you organize your content. About the hyperlinks for text, you can just color the text black if you want using the color picker. If you are talking about an image, we haven't rolled out a complete way to control that yet but you can fix it by adding 1 pixel border and make the color of the border the same as the background.
The additional flash intros are still in the works!

Thanks for getting back with me. I was wondering if you could see if there was a way when adding more pages to my site, if there was a way to delete the page buttons other than one by one? It makes it tough when I am linking pages, and I don't want 40 or more buttons on my page. I have to go to each page and delete each button one by one, and it takes hours to finish just that part. Is there a way to modify this, so I can just click on blank boxes next to the button I want to delete and then click on a on another button that says delete all? Just like how most e-mail works?

I wanted to see if there was a way to modify the photo template. On my father's site, he wanted to add photos, however, he wanted it to be one row of two photos, then under this is a row of three photos, and under this a row of five photos and so on. Is there a way to modify this?
Also, have you had a chance to work on the other topics we spoke of before?
* Flash intro pages
* Changing add button options to put delete all that are check marked
* Making it an option of adding your own logos, photos, or graphics to the flash intro
* Adding the borders to the blank templates
* As well as the other items we spoke of.

There currently isn't a way to accommodate the pyramid layer within the gallery. You could make get the same effect by creating individual strips of galleries 1 high but it's likely to be impractical to create that. The Flash intro pages still don't accommodate custom graphics and it's still on the future features list. Nearly all the prior suggestions are active and while not scheduled presently they have certainly not been discounted.

I need to know if there is a way to delete a subtitle on an templete. I added pictures to the title and can not see the pictures because of the subtitle. Please help!!!!!!!
There are some templates that have no subtitle. Or you can click on the clear for the subtitle.

Ok to the topic on hand. With the clean slate template there isn't an automatic way to create a horizontal navigation. There are two choices available to you. One choose a template other than clean slate that has a horizontal navigation. Two, create your own navigation within a content block and then share it between all pages . E.g type the page name out, highlight it, click on link and select the page names from the choice, repeat and then share that block. Obviously that's the quick run through but if there's anything I can do re either choice please let me know.

Ok the good news is there's a work around for placing colored borders within a content block. The bad news is that it's not included in the program. For each content block you have to create a single cell table and then go into the HTML view and add bordercolor="#000000" into the line it looksl something like this.
<table style="WIDTH: 250px" bordercolor="#000000" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="1" border="1">
Then create the site content within the table and it will have a black border. Let me know if anything else turns up.

Hey, I'm new to website making, and i made a site using website tonight. But what drives me crazy is that I cant make my website the way I want it. All the templates are strictly movable- for instance, i dont have a space to put like adds and such without adding them to every page. I figured the way to solve this is to go with a different template from other websites, although website tonight makes it soo confusing/impossible to upload custom templates. Could someone please help me out here. I really dont want my money to go to waist, and i am on the verge of giving up.

There are several templates under Generic category that might fit your needs. For example, Clean Slate is the one with no images or text.

I have a lot of time with the website tonight software when I am writing text into the content block. The reason is sometimes there is a connection issue and all the work I have done gets deleted. What needs to happen is I believe you should have a auto save function whenever you have a block open. I have written long articles that got wiped out because I was not aware I was knocked off your server until it was too late.

Website tonight NEEDS to have the capability to allow users to track specifics links in their site. we cannot do this now becuase there is no way to upload Php files to allow for the tracking. traffic facts is great but it does not allow us to track how many times a specific link is clicked on in our site. We're always looking to improve our product, so we appreciate your suggestions.
Generally track tracking is about detecting incoming traffic, not going link-clicks, as it is more technically challenging (and less reliable) to track outgoing clicks. The best practice is to track the traffic on those desired sites, though, I understand you are likely not the owner of these sites you are linking to. Sorry I cannot be of more use here, but I want you to know we are listening and making improvements to our service constantly.

Currently , Website Tonight does not provide the feature to upload your own template. However, we do provide a large variety of templates and pre-built sites that you can choose from. If none of the templates suit your needs, please let us know what you are looking for, and we will be happy to pass it on to our templates team.

Hello, We are building our website and have noticed that the header/title on our home page repeats on all the other pages that we have. Is there a way to not have that repeat? We would like a different title on each page. thanks, Michelle
Hi Michelle,
The way to stop the header title from repeating on every page is to unshare the header block. This is how you do it:
1. Open any page in the Page Designer.
2. Click inside the title block.
3. From the options above, click on the "Share" button.
4. Now click "Unshare Content", then "ok".
This will "unshare" the header title content , so you can have different titles on each page.
Similarly, you can also share various content blocks on your site, which is helpful when you need to have the same content on more than one page.

Hi! I really don't know if this is the appropriate spot for questions like this, but I figured it's the only thing I've found so far that seems like a good place to start.
I use Website Tonight for my website, and I'm looking to put comment areas on certain pages of my site. I've found a lot of 3rd party application that require me to simply embed codes, but I'd prefer something through Website Tonight.
Does such a thing exist?
I'm looking for something like this page we're on...so that people can post comments on our news page and our articles.

I’m looking for a little help. For the last 6 weeks the graphic at the bottom of each of my web pages has looked great. Starting yesterday I’m seeing a blue border around that graphic which I’m being told is a result of having a URL LINK attached. I was told that Godaddy fixed something recently which caused the border to appear. Can you recommend something which will make that border invisible? I love web site tonight, you make a novice like me look good!

Thank you for such good words of encouragement. We have a very easy work around for this problem.
Please try the following steps.
1. Log into WST. Go to the page
2. Open the design editor by clicking on the image/block.
3. Go to HTML mode (by clicking "HTML" in the left bottom corner of design editor).
4. Insert style="border-color:#ffffff;" (right before title="Click Here To Apply") into the img tag.
Let us know if you want us to apply this fix for you. We will be glad to do that.

Hi - using a busines template and the header has 2 set blocks that aren't removable or re-sizeable. The top font at a large size overlaps with the bottom - the P and G 's bottom part are cut off - the lower block is covering it. Even if we move the text in block 2 down the blank space covers it. Any way around this? Thanks

The template is set to have only fixed height header and sub-header. There are several templates that have only one block in the header area.
