(In his best Justin Timberlake voice) "We're bringing 'easy' back!"

There's a new look and feel coming to the WebSite Tonight® application.  After fielding extensive feedback from our customers, our customer service representatives, and Justin Timberlake, we decided to dedicate a few teams here at Go Daddy to make some changes.  And boy, our software, creative, and usability teams did not disappoint.

I can't disclose yet what we changed or when it's coming out but keep your eyes open for something new within the next 2 months that will make web publishing much easier, faster, smarter, stronger, etc.

If you have a feature suggestion or idea that you think would really be a hit, leave us a note and we'll honestly consider it!

Thanks.

Clifford

HI, I was wondering in the newer version if the Backup and Restore function will disply ALL the backups created? As I look at my 2 WST accounts, it only displays the last 6 although it states You can save up to 14 copies of your Web site project?

    Thank You in adavance,

      Hi Tracy-

Yep, that's a good idea and we've had that on the to-do list for a while now.  Who else on here is interested in this feature?

      Thanks.

I see some improvement in your Website Tonight, but you still have a long way to go. The templates are confusing and hard to use, and the whole process of setting up a website is slow, frustrating and cumbersom. Take a look at register.com, and how their's is handled. It is much simpler and more intuitive for the average person.

      Hi Jean,

Thanks for the comments.  We have a new update for WebSite Tonight coming out in the next couple of weeks that will make the application run smoother.   The initial release of WebSite Tonight 4.0 was meant to streamline the front end where our users do the site building and this second part coming in two weeks will streamline the backend processing side of the application.

      Thanks again.

What happened to the advance edit option? there used to be several options there I used and now they're gone replaced by a side bar that doesn't work. I'm trying to simply add a row to an existing table but I can only get the edit table option to come up if I select the entire table, but then it won't let me add a row above or below because I'm not clicked into a row.. I need to do this today.. I don't remember HTML all that good it's been 9 years since I've written code, I need a WYSIWYG that's why I purchased this product. Can we have to old version back until the kinks are worked out? please?

Thanks for the comment Jackie.  I passed your issue over to our customer service center and they will contact you via e-mail.

Please click into one of the cells and then use the "Edit Table" button on the sidebar to expand the table by row or column.

      Thanks!

Can I go back to the previous version of website tonight? It worked fine for me whereas now I'm having to take more time to update my pages. Plus there doens't seem to be an advanced edit option anymore.

          Hi Scott,

Thanks for the feedback.  Unfortunately using the old interface will not be an option but don't worry, we'll be releasing an update to make the application faster on the back end in the next couple of weeks.  As far as making changes now compared to making changes before, we've actually had quite a few people say they love the new interface as it is more intuitive and we've shortened the number of steps required to enter in your content.

Also, the advanced edit and the quick edit was basically combined to lessen the confusion between the two.  I know it is a little different than what you may be used to but give it some time and I'm sure the new editing format will grow on you.

          Thanks again!

This my first evening with Website Tonight. I'm not overly impressed to say the least. The templates feel more like handcuffs. All I want to do is replace the graphic that is being used. All of the help keeps referring to some Build Pages menu. I cannot find anything called that. Two hours into what was supposed to be a simple website and I've about had it. It would seem to me that all of these references must be to the previous version. Any help?

      Hi Von,

We're going to be releasing new templates in the future that should prove to be more useful.  Which template are you using?

Here's a general tip, since the only differentiators between templates like "Business" or "Real Estate" are the images, and since you can change just about any image in any template now, you can use just about any template for your project, no matter what kind of site you are creating.

      Thanks.

Can you please add the ability to implement favicons? This shouldn't be too difficult - I believe you need to add the ".ico" as a recognized image file extension so we can upload it. Then when we add the HTML code, we should be good to go. Thoughts?

      Hello Chad

Thanks for your query regarding the favicon for a site.

It is in the WebSite Tonight road map and will be part of an upcoming release.

      Thanks for your feedback

The forum page seems to have no way to change color. It is a blue, with small black letters for links at the top right. These buttons are for logins and for new member sign-ups (my account, my messages, logout, etc. They are virtually invisible to the inexperienced or new user, and the MY ACCOUNT is confusing to new users.

Also, the number of comments field is tiny, tiny, tiny. These make the forum page most difficult to use, and hardly worth the bother to all but the most adamant users.

      Greetings Denise,

Thank you for your recent feedback.   Presently the color schemes are tied to that of your main website  and it looks like the scheme you are using  has legibility issues which we need to correct and I've put in a request to have those amended to something more suitable. Meanwhile changing the color scheme on your site would be an interim option.   I will take a look at the feasibility of increasing the size of the comment # too.

    Hey Clifford:

I'm brand new to WST but I'm already frustrated by two things: 1) the (lack of) speed with which I'm able to create my site pages and 2) the limited text width.

I'm focusin on creating income using AdSense and it's important for me to generate pages of content quickly and to utilize my entire screen width (which, to me, it represents income).

Anything you can say to keep me hanging on or must I fact the fact that WST just might not be the best option for me.

    Thank you.

      Hello Barry

      Thank you for your feedback.

The development team is working on making the application faster. I am very sorry for the inconvenience.

There are some templates which fits to the width of the screen under Generic category.

You can expect some changes and lot of performance improvement in the coming days that will make site building easier and faster.

      Thanks
