Web Site Tonight 4.3 release
Greetings,
We’ve recently released version 4.3 of Website Tonight. In the prior release we’d added the ability for brand new users to create a complete themed site within just a few clicks. While this is a great way to quickly set up a site for the first time user, it's pretty neat for those of us that already have a site and either want to start anew or quickly add additional content.
Add pages: Pre-built site option
What is it?
A quick way to add pre-built template elements into your existing web site.
Why do I want it?
Allows you to replicate existing pages within your pre-built site, with the same layout type you created them with.
Where Do I get it?
Click Add Page, switch to Pre-built page, and then select the site and page type from the drop down menus. Note: If you are using a legacy template ( xml ) this option will not be available to you until you change your template.
Restart site: (I have become the destroyer of sites.)
What is it?
This is the end of the site as you know it. The nuclear option of mutually assured deletion for your existing website. In plain English…restart.
Where Do I get it.
You can access it by going to MANAGE, then RESTART SITE.
What now?
Read the instructions that appear and maybe take one last stroll around your website to remember the way it was. If you have a site that you wish to restart, but are not 100% committed, its annihilation
Backup!
I strongly suggest you backup before proceeding. If you're just trying out the various types of free sites after starting an account, then there's no need to take this step. If you have removed your site without first taking a backup, I'm sorry but it’s deader than plaid.
It's worse than that, Scotty. It's dead Jim? Hopefully, I've made the point that failing to backup your site prior to hitting restart is irreversible.
SSL Site Seal.
For those of you with a secure certificate, we've made it easier to place your “Site Seal” within Website Tonight. You can access this in the page designer by selecting this option from “Table and Objects” in the toolbar.
Full details can be located here: ( http://help.godaddy.com/article.php?article_id=4073&topic_id=178)
Enjoy the cycle of destruction and creation. We have pre-built site types at present, but we're planning on adding more. If you want us to do the heavy clicking for you, send us your suggestions via the blog, or use the feedback link within the program.

For the last few days, I've not had the positive experience with WebSiteTonight that I had all of December and the first part of this month. It gets hung up repeatedly, that is, "waiting for app4..." with status bar at halfway point and no progress until I finally have to terminate abnormally with taskmgr or exit window or other such ugly endings. It has done this while I was changing pages, switching back and forth to page properties tab, uploading files, publishing site, adding image, and just now, when I tried to select the Add On for Forum. This happens on both my browsers, IE 6.0 and Firefox 2.0.0.11, and on both my laptop Dell running XP Home and my desktop Dell running XP Pro. One day, I spent a quarter of an hour trying to get the program to recognize that I had deleted a pdf file and uploaded a replacement by same name. This worked fine for 4 out of 5 files, but one file kept coming back from the grave. I had to remove the link and then link to the file again before it quit displaying the old file, which no longer existed. (Here's where I play "Twilight Zone" music.) Is it just me? Is it just my site? Or am I just the first to say something? WebSiteTonight is still a wonderful tool, and I appreciate it; I just don't need the recent headaches. Please restore lost stability. I'm confident you can and will so am thanking you in advance. TY--k
Greetings Kathleen,
I'm sorry to hear you are experience slowdowns/ stops within WST at present. The only common parts left are WST and your connection to it. Did this all occur on the same connection? Eg If you take the same laptop to another location and access WST do you experience the same issues? The non deletion sounds like a caching issue that I'll try to replicate since it's not an expected behavior. If you continue seeing issues any assistance re the time this occurs at and whether it's a continual or random issue once you start having problems could be useful in being able to trouble shoot this.

As Kathleen explained, and elegantly I might add, I am experiencing the same errors and inconsistency. After a call to support, I was informed it is a common error on Apple and Firefox 2.0.0.13 and WST. I was going along fine, placed too many pictures on the same page and WST just doesn't seem to work the same, as before. I have been working on intermittent access throughout the day and managing to update somethings but not able to adequate maintain a WST Designer platform from which to proceed. I keep getting the error that says notify support and here I am at the BLOG. I feel less frustrated after Kathleen's explanation of my same issues. I have attempted the same items on an XP IE7.0 displayed machine and seem to have the same issues, repeating again and again.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely

Greetings Bob,
Thanks for taking the time to send us this information. I'm going to take a look at your specific account and see what's occurring. It's quite intermittent since the last comment I just replied to is experiencing a faster response time. I know it's out there but presently it's rather elusive. I'll contact you regarding this next week with the results.

This has happened to me at least 5 times. Each time it happens, I have to redo all the work because the message says it's sorry that my work won't be saved.
These errors appear to happen when I make a lot of changes in a row. Now I save after every 2 changes, including hyperlinks, which seem to really cause the crash.
Thanks, Laura
Hello Laura,
Please contact our support https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/support_submit_question.asp if you still have issues.

John:
Thanks for the quick reply. Everything seems to be working fine, as long as I wait approximately 30-60 minutes between posting and updating. I have not had any single incident, with patience, that repeated itself, as stated before. Again, I remain pleased.

Greetings,
We're sorry to hear that you are having some issues with WebSite Tonight. Is there a particular operation that is causing the timeout or hang up issue? Does it happen with a specific browser?
We are currently working to identify areas that may cause some instability and fix those. In addition, we are re-examining various functions with an eye on improving performance. This is an ongoing project and we are adding the changes incrementally with each new release. In the next few planned releases, users should see noticeable performance improvement in several pages.
Thanks,
RC

I built my site ages ago using Website Tonight, and believe the last version I was using was 2.7. I have been scared to enter version 4.0 as it appears from the webpage that I will have start my website from scratch, selecting a new template and building my pages all over again. Is this the case? Or when I go into it, my website will be there, and I can just update it?
Dear Karen,
You will have the choice of importing your 2.7 site when you upgrade to the latest version of WebSite Tonight (which is 4.5.2). Most of your content will be imported, and you should be able to easily correct anything that was left behind.
Sincerely,
Eric
